Slapshot!!
Slapshot!! was one of the most enjoyable projects I undertook during my course, as it allowed me to explore my passion for arcade-style action games whilst developing my technical and design skills. Inspired by the House of the Dead series, I set out to create a first-person rail shooter that combined fast-paced gameplay with a vibrant sci-fi neon aesthetic.
Throughout the development process, I focused on creating an engaging gameplay loop that encouraged quick reactions and rewarding combat encounters. Alongside building the game itself, I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of level pacing, player engagement, and how environmental presentation can enhance the overall player experience. This project provided an opportunity to experiment with both visual style and gameplay design, resulting in a project that reflected many of my core interests as a game developer.
